These 36" x 36" banners were displayed at parades ending at Burrough Hall in Brooklyn, celebrating the Brooklyn Dodgers capturing the National League title.
This banner was originally produced in anticipation of the Dodgers winning the NL title, however when the Giants stole the pennant in the third game of the playoffs, the banner was set aside and reused for the 1953 season. The photo on the right shows the "3" has been painted over the original "1" in 1953.
